Stephanie Sorota of Glen Rock, New Jersey is in her eighth season with The Washington Ballet. She has performed in works by various choreographers including George Balanchine, Gemma Bond, Sir Anthony Dowell, William Forsythe, Jiri Kylian, Jessica Lang, Edward Liang, Justin Peck, Alexei Ratmansky, Twyla Tharp, and Septime Webre, as well as classical repertoire such as GiselleSleeping Beauty; Cranko’s Romeo and Juliet;  Ashton’s Birthday Offering, The Dream, and Symphonic Variations; and Folkine’s Les Sylphides. In June 2016, Sorota participated in the Ballet Program at The School at Jacob’s Pillow, performing a new work choreographed by Yury Yanowsky in the Ted Shawn Theater and on the Henry J. Leir Stage. In the 2013 and 2015 Youth America Grand Prix Philadelphia Semi-Finals, Sorota placed third in the Senior Classical division. As a participant in the 2015 Youth America Grand Prix New York Finals, she placed Top Twelve in the Senior Division.
