Company

Noura Sander, originally from Northern California, is in her third season with The Washington Ballet. Noura started training seriously at the age of eight at Franklin School for the Performing Arts after moving to Massachusetts. She trained there for seven years under the tutelage of Cheryl Madeux-Abbott. She attended summer programs at The Nutmeg Ballet Conservatory, American Ballet Theater, and The Washington Ballet. Noura was accepted into ABT’s Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School in NYC where she studied from 2016-2017 under Karin Averty and Fabrice Herrault. She then joined The Washington School of Ballet’s Professional Training Division in 2017 under the instruction of Xiomara Reyes and Rinat Imaev, and was promoted to Trainee the following year.

Noura was hired into TWB’s Studio Company for the 21/22 season and then promoted to Main Company in November of 2022.

During her time in The Washington School of Ballet, Noura performed alongside the company in Septime Webre’s The Nutcracker, John Cranko’s Romeo and Juliet, and Julie Kent and Victor Barbee’s Sleeping Beauty.

Since being promoted into the professional company, Noura has enjoyed performing roles in Swan Lake, Giselle, Septime Webre’s The Nutcracker, Andile Ndlovu’s B1, Mthuthuzeli November’s Where Do We Go Now, Dana Genshaft’s All The Little Boxes, George Balanchine’s Serenade, Concerto Barocco, Theme and Variations, and Julie Kent and Victor Barbee’s The Sleeping Beauty.
