Company

Catherine Doherty, from Olathe Kansas, is in her first season with the Company at The Washington Ballet. Catherine began her professional training at The Kansas School of Classical Ballet when she was twelve under Juan Pablo Trujillo and Stefanie Schrimpf. In 2017, Catherine went on to continue her studies at The HARID Conservatory in Boca Raton, Florida where she graduated from in 2019. Upon graduating, Catherine joined The Washington School of Ballet as a Trainee under the direction of Xiomara Reyes and Rinat Imaev. She was then promoted to TWB Studio Company in 2021.

During her time at The Washington School of Ballet, Catherine performed alongside the company in Septime Webre’s The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, and Giselle.

As a Studio Company member, Catherine’s repertoire included Septime Webre’s The Nutcracker, Julie Kent and Victor Barbee’s staging of The Sleeping Beauty, George Balanchine’s Theme and Variations, Dana Genshaft’s All the Little Boxes, Silas Farley’s Werner Sonata & Such Sweet Thunder, Brett Ishida’s when shall we three meet again, Jessica Lang’s Coloring Silent Space, and Houston Thomas’s A Dancer’s Prayer.

Some of her most memorable are George Balanchine’s Serenade & Concerto Barocco, Dwight Rhoden’s MIDNIGHT RIFF, and Chanel DaSilva’s colōrem.
