Chanell Cabrera Sansón trained at the Cuban National Ballet School, graduating with honors and earning a Ballet Teacher Diploma. She later completed her higher education at Cuba’s University of Arts (Instituto Superior de Arte), graduating with honors from the Dance Art Faculty. Throughout her career, she has worked with renowned teachers such as Alicia Alonso, Fernando Alonso, Aurora Bosch, Julio Bocca, Alexei Ratmansky, José Carlos Martínez and Daria Klimentová, among others.
Ms.Cabrera was a principal dancer with the Cuban National Ballet from 2014 to 2021 under the direction of Alicia Alonso and Viengsay Valdés. Since 2022, she has been a principal dancer with the National Theatre of Brno in the Czech Republic, under the artistic leadership of Mario Radačovský.
Her classical repertoire includes leading roles in Giselle, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Coppélia, Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, and La Fille Mal Gardée, as well as works by George Balanchine such as Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux and Concerto Barroco. In contemporary ballet, she has performed pieces by choreographers including Anabelle Lopez Ochoa, Ricardo Amarante, Jiří Kylián, Nacho Duato, and others.
Chanell has performed at international festivals and galas such as the Havana International Ballet Festival, the Kennedy Center Festival in Washington, The Grange Festival in England, and “Les Étoiles” in Italy. In 2025, she was invited as a guest principal dancer to perform Don Quixote by José Carlos Martínez with the Compañía Nacional de Danza at the Teatro Real in Madrid.
Throughout her career, she has been awarded gold medals in both international and national ballet competitions.
