Britt Biles

Britt Whitesell Biles, recently served as General Counsel of the US Small Business Administration. Prior to joining the SBA, she was Special Assistant to the President and Associate White House Counsel. She has substantial experience in complex civil litigation and regulatory matters. In the private sector, she was a litigation partner at Stein Mitchell Beato & Missner LLP, where she served as counsel on a diverse array of cases, including, class actions and mass torts; commercial contract disputes; Congressional investigations; cases involving cybersecurity and privacy breaches, environmental contamination cases; private securities litigation; product liability cases; and regulatory investigations and enforcement proceedings brought by the SEC, the Federal Trade Commission, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and various state attorneys general.

Prior to joining Stein Mitchell she served as Assistant Chief Litigation Counsel in the Division of Enforcement at the Securities and Exchange Commission where she received the Chairman’s Award for Excellence in 2017. Before her work at the SEC, Ms. Biles was a litigation partner in the Washington, DC, office of Kirkland and Ellis LLP. Ms. Biles received her law degree from Duke University School of Law and her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Ms. Biles resides in Virginia with her husband, Lacey, their two young sons, Talbot and Hough, and their Portuguese Water Dog, Alice Tallulah.
