Sydney Wiggins

Sydney B. Wiggins is a Washington, DC native and a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) with a BFA in Dance and Choreography. Sydney has been dancing since the age of three and has trained at some of the top dance programs in the DC area, including The Washington School of Ballet at THEARC under the direction of Katrina Towes, and Duke Ellington School of the Arts (DESA) under the direction of Charles Augins. She graduated from DESA in 2016 with a focus in Dance and was recognized as Most Outstanding Dancer. During Sydney’s time at VCU, she studied and performed with many artists including guest artist Helen Simoneau, and current faculty, Scott Putman and MK Abadoo in various productions presented by the VCU Dance Department. She has also worked with many student choreographers in multiple Senior Project Concerts and many VCU Dance productions. Sydney has attended and performed with artists at the International Association of Blacks in Dance Conference (IABD) and the American College Dance Association (ACDA). Sydney has choreographed many of her own works throughout her education at Duke Ellington School of the Arts and VCU Dance. She is now a certified American Barre Technique Instructor as well as a teacher at The Washington School of Ballet.
