Sydney B. Wiggins is a native Washingtonian and Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) graduate with a BFA in Dance and Choreography. Sydney has been training in dance since the age of three and has studied at some of the top dance programs in the DC area, including The Washington School of Ballet at THEARC under the direction of Katrina Towes; and Duke Ellington School of the Arts (DESA) under the direction of Charles Augins. She graduated from DESA in 2016 with a focus in Dance.

During Sydney’s undergraduate studies in the VCU Dance Department, she trained and performed with many artists including guest artist Helen Simoneau, and current faculty, Scott Putman, MK Abadoo, and Dr. E. Gaynell Sherrod in various capacities. She has also worked with many student choreographers in various Senior Project Concerts and VCU Dance productions. Sydney has performed and studied with artists at the International Association of Blacks in Dance Conference (IABD) and the American College Dance Association (ACDA).

Sydney is an emerging performer, choreographer, and entrepreneur in the DC area. She works as a certified American Barre Technique Instructor as well as a dance instructor with The Washington School of Ballet SE Campus. Sydney is also the founder and Artistic Director of the newly formed Wiggins Dance Collective.
