Martha Schwieters

Martha Schwieters, a native Washingtonian, holds a degree in English literature from Trinity College (now Trinity Washington University) and an M.A in Performing Arts: Dance from American University. She taught ballet in the D.C. area for nineteen years and performed with Goucher College’s Chorégraphie Antique while pursuing research in dance history. A resident of Annapolis, she’s active in Anne Arundel Women Giving Together. She is also involved with the Capital Campaign Resource Development effort to maintain and improve Maryland Hall, dedicated to Arts for All. She and her husband John are parents of three grown children and grandparents of seven.
