The Washington School of Ballet’s Northwest Campus on Wisconsin Avenue shares studios with the internationally acclaimed The Washington Ballet. Students catch glimpses of Company rehearsals and can earn the opportunity to perform in Company productions. Notable alumni from The Washington School of Ballet include Virginia Johnson, Kevin McKenzie, Amanda McKerrow, Shirley MacLaine, Georgia Engel, and Chelsea Clinton. The Washington School of Ballet students have gone on to dance professionally with The Washington Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet, Dutch National Ballet, Houston Ballet, Boston Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and numerous other companies all over the U.S. and the world. TWB is proud to announce the January 2016 significant expansion of its TWSB campus at Cathedral Commons on Wisconsin Avenue N.W. just south of the Company’s headquarters. This new location houses three state-of-the-art studios, with availability for community event rental space and views of Wisconsin Avenue N.W. and Newark Street, plus the potential to expand children’s and adult classes to further enrich the greater Washington, DC community while preparing the future dancers of America and beyond. This is a significant investment in TWB’s dance training.
With the School expansion come the ongoing enhancements to pedagogy and TWB is pleased to announce the appointment of two beloved former ballerinas of TWB to associate ballet master positions. Michelle Jimenez and Erin Mahoney-Du join TWB’s artistic staff and serve as repetiteurs, teacher, coaches and ballet masters to our Company, Studio Company and trainees. They join Ballet Masters Elaine Kudo and Luis R. Torres and School Director Kee Juan Han.

The Washington School of Ballet's SE Campus is housed at the Town Hall Education Arts and Recreation Center (THEARC). The multi-disciplinary facility inspires both children and adults to learn and discover in a community that includes dance, music, art, education, health and social services. TWB@THEARC’s suite includes two studios, dressing and locker rooms and access to a 366-seat theatre where The Washington Ballet annually performs its famed The Nutcracker. The Athenaeum is home to the Northern Virginia Fine Arts Association and located in the heart of Old Town Alexandria. In 2008, The Washington School of Ballet and The Athenaeum formed a partnership to provide quality ballet classes to young students in the Northern Virginia community. The Athenaeum provides an elegant and expansive space for students to learn the foundations of ballet. The Alexandria Campus is located at 201 Prince Street, Alexandria, VA 22314.
