The Washington School of Ballet’s Northwest Campus on Wisconsin Avenue consists of three buildings:

  • The Main Building at 3515 Wisconsin Ave, NW – 202.362.3606

  • The Cathedral Commons Studios at 3308 Wisconsin Ave, NW – 202.349.0261
    • Our suite is on the 2nd floor.
    • The street entrance is on Wisconsin Ave NW between Cactus Cantina and Barcelona Wine Bar.
    • Paid parking is available in the garage beneath the building. Entrances are on Newark St NW and Macomb St NW off of Wisconsin Ave NW.
  • The Van Ness Studios at 4200 Wisconsin Ave, NW – 202.695.7986
    • The street entrance is on Van Ness St NW next to Surfside.
    • Paid parking is available in the garage on Van Ness or down the street at City Ridge.

Limited neighborhood parking is available for drop-offs and pick-ups. Please help us be good neighbors and adhere to all posted street signs.

Traffic Management at TWSB-NW

Students, faculty, and staff make their daily commute by car, bus, train, bicycle, and foot. We acknowledge the inconvenience experienced by our nearby residents due to drop-off and pick-up traffic. We sincerely value the patience exhibited by our neighbors and student families during these thirty-minute intervals. The Washington Ballet encourages our students and faculty to commute in a community-friendly way:
  • Parents and guests coming to TWSB are asked to utilize community parking garages found at our Cathedral Commons and Van Ness locations.
  • Bicycle racks are available at or near our three building locations.
  • Metro, bus, and metro-operated benefits for TWB employees.

Drop-off/Pick-up Information
Students in Level 2 and up may be dropped off at the sidewalk near the bus stop and must immediately come upstairs to check in. We ask that all students in Creative Dance, Pre-Ballet 1, Pre-Ballet 2, Pre-Ballet 3, and Level 1 and below be escorted into the building by an adult. A drop-off lane at the front of the building is due to be completed in mid-April and we will share further information about drop-off protocols once this happens.

About TWSB SE at THEARC

Inaugurated in the summer of 2005, Town Hall Education Arts Recreation Campus (THEARC) hosts The Washington School of Ballet’s Southeast Campus, TWSB SE. THEARC is also home to fourteen nonprofit partner organizations, including Levine Music, ArtReach, Washington School for Girls, Trinity (DC) University, Children’s Health Project DC, Boys and Girls Club FBR Branch, and Covenant House, making it a widely-used community asset.

Beyond the programs in the two original buildings, THEARC houses a 400-seat theater, art gallery, basketball courts, and a community garden. In January 2018, THEARC opened a building that hosts an expanded Children’s Health Project, The Community Meditation Center, AppleTree Institute, Bishop T. Walker School for Boys, and a 250-seat Black Box theater.
