Zulima Espinel serves as vice president for global public policy and government affairs. Prior to joining Starbucks, Ms. Espinel spent a decade serving in various roles for the U.S. Government. Most recently, she served as Special Assistant to the President and Associate White House Counsel for the Obama Administration. Before joining the Counsel’s office, Ms. Espinel worked for the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary. She joined the Judiciary Committee as Counsel in 2007 and was promoted to Senior Counsel for National Security in 2009. Prior to her work in the Senate, Ms. Espinel served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Columbia. She received her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center and graduated with honors from Barnard College.
