Studio Company Dancers
Helga Paris Morales started dancing in her native Puerto Rico when she was three years old. She came from a musical family and loved to dance to and makeup dances that reflected the cultural music of her heritage. When she was eight years old, her family moved to Cincinnati and she began training at The Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. From 2008-2016 she studied tap, musical theatre, and ballet. Helga participated in Summer Intensive programs at American Ballet Theatre, The Joffrey Ballet, and Cincinnati Ballet. At age 16 she began auditioning for major ballet companies and received a scholarship to train with Kansas City Ballet. She was also offered the opportunity to join the Professional Training Program at The Washington Ballet and came to DC instead. Helga was promoted to Studio Company in 2019. She has choreographed four pieces that have been performed by members of The Washington Ballet Studio Company at Dance for All community engagement events and at The Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery.
