Erica Bondarev Rapach is a dynamic leader in brand innovation, strategic communication, and marketing strategy, with a career that bridges arts administration, executive leadership, higher education, and personal identity. Known for her socially conscious creativity and drive for transformative change, Erica is committed to cultivating artistic expression, growing audiences, empowering teams, and building community.
She has held senior roles in marketing and executive leadership at The Washington Ballet, Theater Alliance of DC, The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center at the University of Maryland, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, American University, and the .ART domain registry. In addition to her unwavering commitment to The Washington Ballet, she serves as Executive Director of the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra. She is writing an arts management manifesto, set for publication in 2026.
Erica’s path to arts management began over 5,000 miles from home while serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Russia, where she played violin with the Volgograd Symphony Orchestra. Producing the ensemble’s first-ever U.S. tour sparked her interest in managing arts organizations and led her to graduate studies at American University. Now, with two decades in the field, she brings a global perspective and deeply personal ethos to her work.
A creative entrepreneur, Erica also founded individu.art, a startup that uses artificial intelligence to co-design textiles and transform them into sustainable fashion. She is the mother of two creative, non-conforming, bicultural daughters and is married to a builder and fixer who is her greatest champion.
