NW Pre Ballet Presentation
Pre-Ballet I students will have an open observation for immediate family members during the last class in May. Pre-Ballet II and III students will have the opportunity to show their achievements in a class presentation in our England Studio Theater on May 6 & 7. Participation is optional.
NW Spring Performance
Under the direction of the new Head of School, Xiomara Reyes, The Washington School of Ballet will present a new Spring Performance. This year’s production will begin with a Grand defile (a presentation of all levels 1A and up ending with all on stage) followed by excerpts from Raymonda and a contemporary piece by Mimmo Miccolis with students of PTP. The finale will be a new ballet set to the music of Verdi choreographed by our own Xiomara Reyes with all students levels 1A and up.
Tickets are $25 and will be available on this website mid-April, 2017.
Dates and times for the NW Campus students' performances at THEARC Theater:
- Saturday, June 3, 7:00PM performance
- Sunday, June 4, three performances: 11:00AM, 3:00PM, 6:30PM
Each year our Levels 5,6,7 and PTP present variations and repertoire work twice a year at our Fall Showcase and Winter Showcase. Our Showcases are held in our England Studio in our main building at 3515 Wisconsin Ave. This is a ticketed event, tickets are $25 each and the seating is limited to 100 per show. Proceeds benefit our scholarship program. There are 2 shows for each Showcase. Tickets are available at the front desk in person or by calling 202-362-3606.
Levels Pre-Ballet III-PTP will have the opportunity to audition for the annual production of The Washington Ballet’s The Nutcracker. Additionally, PTP students may have the opportunity to perform in other company productions. Please contact Director of School Operations, Donna Glover for more information.
SE Children’s Showcase
Pre-Ballet students will have the opportunity to demonstrate their achievements in the Children’s Spring Showcase at the end of the school year in our large studio. The Pre-Ballet Spring Showcase will take place on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at 1:00pm and 3:00pm. Tickets are $5.00 and are currently on sale at the TWB@THEARC front desk. Each family can buy up to five tickets for each performance their child is in. If there are extra tickets, the box office will open one hour prior to performance start times. The doors will open 30 minutes prior to the performance start times.
SE Spring Performance
Under the direction of the new head of school, Xiomara Reyes, TWB@THEARC Director Katrina Toews will present a refreshed Spring Performance with some crowd pleasing favorites from the past. This year’s production will begin with former School Director Kee Juan Han’s “In the Classroom”, a Grand delife that celebrates the hard work of all students from level 1 – 6. Contemporary pieces by modern faculty member Alice Howes, jazz by Christy Bartholomew and West African dance by Antoinette Connell round-out the first act. The finale will be a new ballet set to the music of Verdi choreographed by our own Xiomara Reyes.

The Washington Ballet @ THEARC Performance Ensemble
The Washington Ballet @ THEARC Performance Ensemble is an auditioned group of dancers that performs throughout the greater DC community. This vibrant group is made up of young men and women and highlights the diverse talent of The Washington Ballet’s SE campus with performances at such prestigious venues as The White House with the President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama in attendance, The Library of Congress, the National Mall and more. The group performs classical ballet, jazz, modern and street jazz selections by numerous accomplished guest artists under the direction of Director of TWB@THEARC Katrina Toews.
