Deborah Sigmund has been a member of the Washington Ballet since 1994. Her daughter Hillary studied at The Washington School of Ballet for six years. She is a current member of TWB’s Women’s Committee. Mrs. Sigmund is the Founder/Director of Innocents at Risk, a non-profit 501 (c), established to help stop the trafficking of women and children. The State Department has endorsed the organization’s efforts on behalf of the three million women and children who are trafficked annually. She speaks regularly across the U.S. to organizations on how to keep our children safe. In 2010 Deborah received the annual Making a Difference Award from the Soroptomist International, and in 2013, Deborah received the D.C. Metropolitan Area Mother of the Year Award from American Mothers. Mrs. Sigmund is known in the Washington area for her work on behalf of charitable organizations. She has held leadership positions in several charitable organizations. She is active within her church, Christ Episcopal Church Georgetown, and is a member of the Capitol Speakers Club, and The Georgetown Club.
