School Year Programs
September – May (33 weeks)
Programs begin the day after Labor Day and run one week past Memorial Day.
Breaks are observed annually during the Thanksgiving Holiday, a 4-week Winter Break Dec-Jan, and during DCPS Spring Break.
Registration for School Year Programs opens each year for current families mid-June and for new families on July 1.
The Washington School of Ballet (TWSB) offers ballet programs for students 1 year old and up each September through May. Our school year programs serve over 750 students at our NW Campus (10 studios) and 250 at our SE Campus (2 studios). TWSB provides a safe, nurturing environment enabling each student to explore their technical and artistic capabilities. Our mission is to inspire the next generation of dancers to grow and expand to their full potential and to keep our community dancing.
Both NW and SE campuses offer classes following TWSB’s leveled syllabus, and each student may move through our syllabus at a different rate. Some students will repeat a year based on a number of factors, but growth is a major consideration. The health of our students is paramount, and we find it best to have a student repeat a level if they do not demonstrate the strength and correct placement for the next level syllabus.
