2022/23 Board of Directors
Evonne Connolly’s first career was in advertising, where her roles included Account Director and Senior VP/Management Committee member, from 1989-2001. Her national clients included USAir, Weight Watchers, Arby’s, Verizon and Mastercard. Next, Evonne co-owned the fine jewelry store, Amaryllis, which won awards for retail marketing and design. Since 2005, Evonne has been engaged as a community volunteer focused on fundraising and event planning while raising her daughters, Caroline and Olivia. She has served on the River Falls Community Association Board of Directors and The Women’s Committee of The Washington Ballet. Evonne served as Executive Committee Secretary and Gala Co-Chair while a member of the Imagination Stage Board of Directors from 2010–2016. At Imagination Stage, Evonne also co-chaired fundraising for the IS/Washington Ballet collaborations The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe and The Little Mermaid. Evonne has co-chaired events including the Potomac Country House Tour, the St. Francis Episcopal Day School Auction, the Beauvoir School Auction and The Washington Ballet’s Nutcracker Tea Party. She has been a Sunday School teacher at Christ Church, Georgetown. Evonne has been an active leader in the Parents Associations of her daughters’ elementary and middle schools, Beauvoir and The National Cathedral School. At her daughters’ boarding school, St. Paul’s School (Concord, NH), Evonne is a member of the task force creating the school’s first-ever Parents Association, and is co-chairing the school’s Annual Fund Committee for the second year with her husband, Robert T. Connolly II. This year marks Evonne’s third as part of the library teaching team at the Bishop Walker School for Boys in Anacostia. A member of the All Hallows Guild, Evonne is an Embassy Floral Display co-chair for the Washington National Cathedral’s Flower Mart in 2020. This is Evonne’s third year on the board of TWB; she has served on the committees for Development, Community Engagement and the Ballet School. In her free time, Evonne most enjoys traveling with her husband, cheering on her girls at their soccer and lacrosse games, reading, singing, photography and making memories each summer on Cape May and Nantucket.
