NW Campus
Auditions for the 2011-2012 school year will be held on JUNE 11, JULY 24, and AUGUST 20 at the following times and locations on the TWSB NW Campus.

SE Campus at THEARC
Auditions for The Washington Ballet @THEARC Summer Dance Program will be held the weeks of MARCH 19, MARCH 26, APRIL 30, and MAY 7. Parents of children ages 6 and older, please call the office at 202.889.8150 to schedule an audition. For children ages 4 and 5, please contact Mary Wroth, School Coordinator, at 202.274.4533 or email MWroth@washingtonballet.org. An audition fee of $30 will be assessed at the time of the audition.
What to Expect
Students will participate in a technique class and be assessed according to technical ability and age-appropriate standards. Prior experience will also be taken into consideration.
Attire
Girls should wear a leotard, tights, and ballet shoes (students on pointe should bring pointe shoes). Boys should wear black tights and a white T-shirt. However, if your child has never danced before, he/she may wear form fitting, comfortable clothing for the audition. Please remove all jewelry and be certain that the student's hair is pulled away from his/her face and secured, preferably in a bun in the case of girls.
In order to audition for The Washington Ballet company productions, such as The Nutcracker, the student must be enrolled in The Washington School of Ballet for one year. Please check the school bulletin board in the reception area for updated notices regarding any Nutcracker auditions.
Alexandria, VA Campus at the Athenaeum
Classes for the Alexandria campus at the Athenaeum will audition with students at the Northwest campus. Please follow the schedule above.
DVD Auditions
Ages 14+: If you are unable to attend scheduled auditions, you may submit a DVD audition via mail or provide a hyperlink to your audition presentation. Please submit a downloaded registration form, headshot, payment of $30 (your audition will not be processed unless payment is rendered). Your audition DVD will be reviewed by TWSB faculty and your results will be emailed to you within two weeks. Please include in the studio work, barre on one side, center work –adagio, pirouettes, petit and grand allegro, and double tours (gentlemen).
