Kimberley Sonderegger

KIM SONDEREGGER, of Minneapolis, MN, trained at the Joffrey Ballet,  American Ballet Theater, Houston Ballet Academy and under notable instructors  Marjorie Mussman, Maggie Black, David Howard, and Willie Burmann. Ms. Sonderegger was associated with Ballet Arizona for 20 years, first as dancer, and later as teacher and school administrator. As Associate Professor of dance at Arizona State University, she taught ballet technique and methodology courses, mentoring both undergraduate and MFA students. In 2008, Ms. Sonderegger joined the faculty of Miami City Ballet School (MCBS) where she was one of the original teachers of the School's special summer course for Brazilian students.  Her choreography for student performances was regularly praised for its sensibility, musicality, and creativity.Working with MCBS leadership and national dance educators, Ms. Sonderegger researched and wrote Miami City Ballet's Self Study for accreditation with the National Association of Schools of Dance. She has taught, choreographed, and coached in Asia and South America as well as across the United States and was invited to participate in the Entreatos Internacional de Danza 2012 festival and scholarship competition in Porto Real, Brazil, and was one of four international teachers in the first Curso Intensivo Internacional de Ballet in Medellin, Colombia (2013). Ms. Sonderegger holds a Master's degree in Anthropology from Arizona State University where she graduated Summa cum Laude, specializing in the prehistory of the North American Southwest; she has practiced archaeology in the Middle East, Spain, and the Western United States.
