Natalie Moffet Smith

NATALIE MOFFETT SMITHNatalie is a native Washingtonian. She trained at the Washington School of Ballet under the direction of Mary Day and Choo San Goh. She was a principle dancer with the Minnesota Ballet (formerly Duluth Ballet) and later served as Ballet Mistress to the company, curriculum coordinator and principle instructor to Minnesota Ballet’s affiliated school. In addition to other performing experiences, Natalie was a leading dancer with Eric Hampton Dance (Mr. Hampton was formerly with the Washington Ballet) and Dana Tai Soon Burgess & Company. Natalie is the founder and Artistic Director of DanceSmith, a contemporary ballet company. Since its founding in 2002, DanceSmith has performed at the Kennedy Center, Atlas Performing Arts Center and George Washington University. She received her MFA in Dance from George Mason University. Natalie has been on the faculty of George Mason University, George Washington University and the Joy of Motion in addition to running her own studio in Maryland. Currently she serves on the board of the Atlas Performing Arts Center. She begins her third year on faculty.
