Melih Mertel
MELIH MERTEL, of İstanbul, Turkey is in his first season with The Washington Ballet. He began classical ballet training at the İstanbul State Conservatory under Oral Yazıcı. Mr. Mertel danced with the Antalya State Opera and Ballet for five years before joining the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet. During his five years with the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet, Mr. Mertel performed works by George Balanchine, Mehmet Balkan and Uwe Scholz. In 2010, he was a guest artist with the Tokyo Kaneta Ballet and the Takamahatsu Hisaka Ballet.
