Ada Marquez

Ada has been a company member of Chicago-based Elements Contemporary Ballet, Peoria Ballet, and Ballet El Paso/UTEP Ballet.  In addition, she has performed with UC Irvine's DTM2 Improvisation Ensemble, Glasgow, Scotland’s Firebox Dance Theatre, Chicago’s AMEBA Acrobatic and Aerial Dance, Mexico’s Ballet Nacional de Cd. Juarez, El Paso Opera, El Paso Symphony, El Paso Association for the Performing Arts, and the UTEP Dinner Theater.  She has also attended summer intensives with Ballet Austin, San Diego Ballet, and Ballet El Paso; as well as professional development workshops at New York City Center. 

Ada worked as a teaching artist with Chicago public and private schools through Joffrey Ballet’s Education and Community Engagement Program, Having a Ball dance program, and Chicago Arts Partnerships in Education (CAPE).  She is a former faculty member of Peoria Ballet Academy, El Paso Community College’s Continuing Education program, and DeMaira Dance Studios in Chicago, IL.

Other career highlights include performing for Sir Tim Rice, and working closely with prominent teachers, artistic directors, and professional dancers world-wide, including Dariusz Blajer, Blanca Martinez, Clara Carranco, Lisa Naugle, Pierre Lockett, Igor Martinez-Elizalde, Diana Silva, and Edward McPherson.

She most recently performed at the University of Rome and at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Italy.  Currently, Ada is a NDEO member, and is on faculty with the UTEP Department of Theater and Dance.
