Aurora Dickie

Aurora Dickie is in her sixth season with The Washington Ballet. Originally from Recife, Brazil she started dancing at age five with her mother and teacher, Jane Dickie. At 11, she joined the Bolshoi School in Brazil where she continued her training for five years. After winning a bronze medal at The Youth America Grand Prix finals in New York City, Dickie was invited to join The Washington Ballet in 2007. Among her numerous accomplishments are a bronze medal at Cape Town International Ballet Competition in South Africa and an Award of Excellence in Contemporary at the International Ballet Competition in Boston, both in 2012. Ms. Dickie had the chance to work in 2010 with Sao Paulo Companhia de Danca in Brazil where she performed acclaimed works by George Balachine, Jiří Kylián and Nacho Duato. Dickie’s most recent featured roles with TWB include both Giselle and Myrtha in Giselle, Wendy in Septime Webre’s Peter Pan, Je N’aime te me Pas in Christopher Wheeldon’s There Where She Loved and Sugar Plum Fairy in Septime Webre’s The Nutcracker. She has also had roles created for her by Annabelle Lopez Ochoa and Septime Webre. Currently, Dickie is pursuing her bachelor degree in performing arts through the LEAP Program.
