Kelley Beasey

Kelley has been dancing various forms of dance for over 20 years. Her passion for dance began at age 7 under the Royal Academy of Ballet (RAD) syllabus, at the Classical Academy of Dance in Cleveland, Ohio under the artistic director, Pamela Hindall. To add a fun outlet to the strict technique of ballet, creative dance forms of tap, jazz, and hip-hop were added to her dance repertoire. Many summer-long intensives and master workshops were attended by Kelley in the Midwest region, including those of the Cleveland Ballet. The Ballet Magnificat! Annual Summer Dance Intensive, providing intensive training, both spiritual and technical, being amongst her favorite. Stressing the technical and theoretical nature of dance, Kelley obtained a minor in Dance from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Being a member of the full company, University Performing Dancers, gave way to many performing opportunities including on-campus modern dance work concerts, scholarships, the regional and national American College Dance Festival, and various other interdisciplinary performing events. Moving around the world for years with her Marine Corps Officer spouse and four young daughters, she has taken every opportunity to dance in various countries with outstanding choreographers and performers, taking away cultural uniqueness and diversity in dance from Europe through the Middle East. In 2009-2011, dance choreography in Southern California for an elite competitive dance company brought her passion back to instruction on the dance floor. Strengthening, conditioning, and teaching basic to advanced technique to dancers in Ballet, Lyrical, Contemporary, Jazz, and Tap has brought Kelley to the region. Currently, Kelley is a multi-level ballet instructor for the Washington School of Ballet as well as teaching dance for various community events and schools in the DC area.
