Septime Webre’s epic Carmina Burana returns to amaze audiences with its boundless energy and majesty. Set to Carl Orff’s invigorating score, The Washington Ballet demonstrates its athleticism and prowess while accompanied by the commanding vocals of the Cathedral Choral Society under J. Reilly Lewis’ expert baton. Completing the program is the company premiere of Christopher Wheeldon’s Morphoses, a powerful and dramatic pas de quatre set to the haunting music of György Ligeti. Wheeldon, resident choreographer of New York City Ballet, is the golden boy of his era.
