This holiday season, 10% of the sales generated from the items in the Ken Downing Gift Collection throughout forty one Neiman Marcus (NM) stores, will benefit The Heart of Neiman Marcus Foundation. This foundation is the national umbrella program that concentrates NM's charitable efforts, including financial contributions, around supporting arts experiences for youth.

Neiman Marcus Tysons has selected The Washington Ballet's Community Engagement Program, DanceDC, to receive financial support generated from the sale of these items. The Washington Ballet's DanceDC serves DC public school elementary-aged students through in-school ballet training that reinforces and integrates concepts learned in the classroom. Purchases can be made from November 20 to December 24.

Join The Washington Ballet’s dancers in front of Macy's Metro Center on Saturday, November 23 at 2PM for the annual Macy’s Window Unveiling. FOX 5 Reporter Allison Seymour kicks off the festivities with a special performance from The Washington Ballet's production of The Nutcracker! The star-studded event continues with performances by the Washington Performing Arts Society's Children of the Gospel Choir, actress and singer Coco Jones and star of NBC's The Voice and Sony Music recording artist Judith Hill. Then the moment arrives as Mayor Gray, the Ballou High School Marching Band and man of the hour, Santa Claus, joins the festivities to reveal Macy’s spectacular holiday windows!

Family Day at The Nutcracker

The Washington Ballet presents FAMILY DAY at The Nutcracker, a ballet experience custom-built for family fun where children of all ages discover what it takes to create everyone’s favorite The Nutcracker. TWB’s Artistic Director and The Nutcracker choreographer, Septime Webre leads fun-filled activities and a special behind-the-scenes look at The Nutcracker on Sunday, December 8 at the historic Warner Theatre. The doors open and activities begin at 11:30AM for the 1PM performance.

Military Night at The Nutcracker

In collaboration with USO Metropolitan Washington, Ft. Belvoir Warrior Transition Unit and Walter Reed Hospital, The Washington Ballet will host a large group service men and women and their families to see Septime Webre’s critically acclaimed The Nutcracker. The production will transport the audience back in time to historic Washington, DC and stars George Washington as the heroic Nutcracker, who’s Revolutionary War Soldiers do battle with King George III. TWB’s The Nutcracker is the perfect production to honor DC’s military men and women.
