The Board of Directors and The Washington Ballet invite you to The Jazz Ball
Friday, May 16, 2014
Location: The Duke Ellington School of the Arts
3500 R Street NW, Washington, DC
The Washington Ballet’s community engagement programs extend to eight DC public and charter schools and include a campus at THEARC in Ward 8, providing classes for over 800 children annually. Thanks to support from donors like you, The Washington Ballet can continue to fund these community and school initiatives that are so critical to the artistic fabric of the Metropolitan area. The Jazz Ball will celebrate TWB’s generous network of donors, the outreach programs that they continue to fund and another successful season of TWB fulfilling its three part mission: world-class performances, dance education and community engagement.
Located in Southeast DC, this satellite campus of The Washington School of Ballet offers classes in a wide array of dance disciplines in two state-of-the-art studios. To ensure access for all, TWB offers tuition on a sliding scale, based on ability to pay.
This interdisciplinary dance program annually reaches over 500 District of Columbia Public Schools students and encourages creativity and self-esteem through dance education.
This scholarship program enables select DanceDC students to study classical Ballet at TWSB free of charge and attend subsidized performances of The Nutcracker and other TWB family events.
