Kee-Juan Han directed the Arizona Ballet School from 1993 to 2003. During his 10 years as Director of the Arizona Ballet School, he trained dancers who are now dancing professionally with the American Ballet Theatre, Boston Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, The Washington Ballet and more. Under his directorship, the school’s enrollment grew from 50 to over 650 students, and he developed numerous successful programs for the school and was highly successful in collaborating with local artists in creating outreach programs for the inner city children. Mr. Han’s dance career began in his native Singapore, where he began training at age ten with Florrie Sinclair and Goh Soo Khim. Upon graduation from the Australian Ballet School, he was invited to dance with the Sydney Dance Company, then the Goh Ballet in Canada, where he was also trained by Lin Yee Goh to teach the Vaganova method. Additionally, he danced with the Indianapolis Ballet Theater and was a soloist with the Boston Ballet. Mr. Han’s international teaching experiences include a host of renowned companies and he was named the best teacher/coach at the Youth America Grand Prix (Long Beach ) in 2000. He is frequently invited to teach in Osaka, Japan by renowned Japanese choreographer Toru Shimazaki, Director of the Japanese Summer Conference. Mr. Han was a full time faculty at the prestigious North Carolina School of the Arts from 2003-2007. He is also a Co-Founder of the American Ballet Competition. Mr. Han is a recipient of the Excellence in Teaching Award at North Carolina School of the Arts.
