Brianne Bland of Vancouver, British Columbia, is in her twelfth season with The Washington Ballet after dancing with the Goh Ballet Training Company for one season.  She received her ballet training at Vancouver’s Goh Ballet Academy, under Choo Chiat and Lin Yee Goh.  She also studied with Lynette Kelley and received London’s Royal Academy of Dance Solo Seal Award in 1996.  In 1997, she was a finalist at the Adeline Genée Awards in London, England and later that year, was the winner of the Youth Television Achievement Award for Dance in Canada .  Since dancing with The Washington Ballet, she has performed roles in works by George Balanchine, Mark Morris, Twyla Tharp, Paul Taylor, Nacho Duato, Septime Webre, Christopher Wheeldon, Antony Tudor and Trey McIntyre, as well as principal roles in Carmen, Romeo and Juliet, Cinderella, Coppélia, The Nutcracker and Giselle. This past summer she was part of the Copenhagen International Ballet, under the direction of Alexander Kolpin, where she performed works by Itzik Galili, Alejandro Cerrudo, and Alexei Ratmansky.
