Brianne Bland, of Vancouver, British Columbia, is in her eleventh season with The Washington Ballet after dancing with the Goh Ballet Training Company for one season. She received her ballet training at Vancouver’s Goh Ballet Academy, under Choo Chiat and Lin Yee Goh. She also studied with Lynette Kelley and received London’s Royal Academy of Dance Solo Seal Award in 1996. In 1997, she was a finalist at the Adeline Genée Awards in London, England and later that year, was the winner of the Youth Television Achievement Award for Dance in Canada. Since dancing with The Washington Ballet, she has performed roles in works by Balanchine, Tharp, Taylor, Duato, Webre, Wheeldon. Tudor and McIntyre, as well as principal roles in Carmen, Romeo and Juliet, Coppélia, The Nutcracker and Giselle.
