Diana Albrecht (Apprentice), from Asuncion, Paraguay is in her first season as an apprentice with The Washington Ballet. She was previously a member of the Studio Company. Diana studied at Nicole Dijkhuis Studio, Julio Bocca Studio and Centro de Danca Rio. Miss Albrecht has danced with El Paso Company of Dance in Rio de Janeiro under the direction of Mrs. Dalal Achcar, performing roles including Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, Grand Pas Classique and many others classical and contemporary ballets. Miss Albrecht has won numerous dance awards including fifteen First Place titles, two gold medals from the Inter American Dance Confederation (CIAD) and Gold Medals in various national and international competitions. She also was one of the Youth America Grand Prix Top 12 Women in 2005 in New York and received a full scholarship to San Francisco Ballet Summer Course in July 2005. She was also selected as one of the thirty finalists for the 2005 Most Outstanding Young Persons of the World Program by the Junior Chamber International. The U.S Department of State granted to Miss Albrecht the Visa O-1 for people with extraordinary abilities.
