Dylan Ward

DYLAN WARD, of Santa Clarita, California, is in his third season with The Washington Ballet. Mr. Ward began ballet at the age of 10, and received his early training at the Santa Clarita Ballet Academy. While at SCBA, he was trained in the Royal Academy of Dancing Syllabus and was awarded the highest ranking distinction in all his examinations. Mr. Ward started attending the San Francisco Ballet School’s Summer Session on scholarship when he was 15, and at 17 he accepted an offer to stay for the year-round program. At San Francisco Ballet School, Mr. Ward was chosen by John Neumeier to perform a principal role in the US premiere of Yondering. During his second year in San Francisco, he participated in the Trainee Program and performed roles by George Balanchine, Helgi Tomasson and John Neumeier, among others. At TWB, Mr. Ward performed in Christopher Bruce’s Rooster, David Palmer’s Passing Through and Melancholic in Balanchine's The Four Temperaments; other roles include works by Twyla Tharp, Mark Morris, Edwaard Liang, Septime Webre, Trey McIntyre and Karole Armitage.
