Hello there TWB Family,
We’ve had one fascinating year here at The Washington Ballet, and I would like to give a special thanks to all of those that were involved in making our 2011.2012 SPELLBOUND Season a tremendous Success. This season wouldn’t have been anything short of amazing without the wonderful company dancers, dedicated artistic and administration staff and most of all our loyal fans that we also call our family!
Wednesday night we had a great time taking a look back at the success of the season and looking forward to what we hope to be the success of our 2012.2013 SEDUCTION Season in our Annual Board meeting, special performance of excerpts from The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe and after party. Of course, I will not bore you with all of the ins and outs of the meeting, but I will tell you that this last season was certainly a treat.
We began our season with the return of the critically acclaimed audience favorite, The Great Gatsby, which reverberates with the exuberance of the Roaring Twenties’ jazz age. Following The Great Gatsby we celebrated our 50th anniversary of The Nutcracker, and opened in the New Year with paying tribute to America’s high priestess of dance with masterworks that displayed the breathtaking diversity in Twyla Tharp: All American. The spring bloomed with an adventure down the rabbit hole with the world premiere of ALICE (in wonderland) and closed the season with the sizzling hot celebration of Latin music and movement with Noche Latina!
We hope you certainly had a fantastical journey, with these irresistible productions and mesmerizing dance. Remember to subscribe to our 2012.2013 SEDUCTION Season. Believe me; you will not want to miss a minute of what we have in store.
