WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington Ballet (TWB) rocks into 2011 with Rock & Roll, a triple-threat, triple-bill at Sidney Harman Hall, running February 16 through 20. Featuring Christopher Bruce’s energetic and athletic Rooster, set to the music of the Rolling Stones; Trey McIntyre’s autobiographical High Lonesome, set to the music of Beck; and a revival of Artistic Director Septime Webre’s early hit Fluctuating Hemlines, accompanied by Robert “Tigger” Benford on a rock-tinged all-percussion original score, Rock & Roll celebrates the heart and soul of the company’s artists and a musical genre that continues to electrify the nation. Tickets to Rock & Roll start at only $20 and are available at harmancenter.org, at the Harman Center box office, or by calling 202.547.1122.

“Rock & Roll will showcase our artists in an array of energetic, athletic ballets that are sure to inspire some rocking out in the audience,” said Mr. Webre. “I am especially thrilled to have worked with Christopher Bruce, one of Britain’s pre-eminent choreographers, on his magnetic ballet, Rooster.”

The program also showcases former TWB Resident Choreographer, Trey McIntyre’s expressionist High Lonesome, an invigorating autobiographical dance portrait set to the music of Beck, and a revival of Mr. Webre’s witty Fluctuating Hemlines, which has not been performed in front of a Washington audience since 2000.

Audiences can get a sneak peek of this production at TWB’s inthewings on January 31, as well as their beerandballet on February 2. For information and tickets to this event, please call 202.362.3606.
