WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington Ballet (TWB) kicks off 2010 with special collaborations and site-specific works including company apprentice Andile Ndlovu’s solo performances at the Transformer Gallery, The Phillips Collection and the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art. Additional upcoming performances include WAM! (wolfgang amadeus mozart), TWB’s Studio Company collaboration with The In Series, January 23-24 and 30-31, and TWB Artistic Director Septime Webre’s world premiere of The Great Gatsby at the Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theater, February 24-28.

Washington, D.C. – The Washington Ballet (TWB) presents Artistic Director Septime Webre’s Washington, DC-themed adaptation of The Nutcracker, December 10-27, 2009 at the historic Warner Theatre. This will mark the 6th anniversary of this one-of-a-kind production, which previews at THEARC in Southeast DC from December 3-5.

WASHINGTON, DC – The Washington Ballet (TWB) will premiere Artistic Director Septime Webre’s The Nutcracker at the THEARC Theater, 1901 Mississippi Avenue SE, Washington DC with five performances from December 3-5, 2009. In light of the loss of a $1 million grant, TWB was faced with making programmatic cuts, including its presentation of The Nutcracker at THEARC. Building Bridges Across the River (BBAR) teamed up with FedEx and the SunDial Foundation to secure $50,000 in funding to make this possible.
